You are eligible to register to vote if you are
a United States Citizen, a permanent resident of

You may register to vote at the following locations or call the Elections office for the location nearest you.

Registration books close 29 days prior to each
election. During this time period, new registrations and
party changes are accepted for future elections.
There are three ways to vote in
1. You may vote by mail by calling 534-5888 or visiting www.PolkElections.com to request an absentee ballot.
2. You may vote early at one of our convenient locations. Call Election Headquarters to check for times and locations.
3. You can vote at your precinct between 7am and 7pm on election day.
Only the Democrat and Republican parties hold
Primary elections in
to vote in that party’s primary election only. There is no “cross over” voting.
In all elections every registered voter, regardless of party affiliation, may vote on all ballot issues and nonpartisan candidates.
Your voice, like your
vote counts! Public officials should
know your views on issues. When you communicate with officials
the following tips are
recommended:

Use your own words

Include your address and sign your name legibly

State bill number and name when referring to legislation
